E-mail de ativação da conta não chega

Boa Tarde!

Instalei um site e deu tudo certo, todas as funções dele funciona exceto uma, na área de membros do meu site, toda a vez que o membro termina de preencher seu cadastro e clica para finalizar, aparece a mensagem no site que foi enviado um e-mail para ele com o link de ativação de sua conta, porém esse e-mail nunca chega. As demais funções de e-mail do site funcionam, por exemplo se eu quiser enviar um e-mail pra um membro pela minha área de administrador e informativos, todos funcionam. O que poderia ser? Na instrução de instalação do meu site, ele diz pra preencher em settings.php, todos os dados como e-mail para registro, newsletter, contato e tudo mais. Não entendo muito bem, mas eu acho que ele usa essa informação em settings.php pra enviar o e-mail, mas ele não esta fazendo conexao, penso eu. Poderiam me ajudar?

Pesquise por phpmailer , a função mail do php costuma dar muitos erros. A biblioteca phpmailer é excelente.
